Once Manjaro inevitably shits itself, think of EndeavourOS! It’s the perfect fully Arch-native, simple to set up and use distro.

I like fish because it requires no setup to be nice to use and the scripting is more intuitive when not doing it constantly.

Easy to set up, and just works. I can’t share any of the OP’s annoyances - everything is fast. Admittedly, I don’t really use the web client. Just the Android app from F-Droid and the linux AUR package element-desktop.

VSTs work with wine. I use Neural DSP amps with Ardour through pipewire. yabridge is the goat.

I use pipewire with Ardour and Neural DSP VSTs (over wine) with zero issues on EndeavourOS. I really hadn’t expected that. Now, I generally just use this stuff to not have to buy many physical pedals so I rarely do recording, but that has worked as well.

You seem to be way more advanced than me in that regard, so I can’t say if it would work for you, but it was so much easier and better than when I tried the same thing years ago. I’d suspect that GuitarRig works as well, though I haven’t tried. I may just do so this weekend, but can’t promise.
