I tried to get into it but with it being presented as IRC but “fun” on their website, I couldn’t really understand why so many nearly empty projects sites keep telling me to try their server for more (or any, really) information… Then I did try to accept an invite, but why the fuck to I need to create an account to know if I want to create an account to begin with? So now, anything promoting Discord as the main method of getting information simply set off my scam alert.
I tried it recently, I used a temporary account for it. I think IRC is way more user-friendly: I wasn’t allowed access to anything , for no stated reason. So as far as I’m concerned, Discord is where information goes to die. Too bad some project hide all of theirs there.
Note to self: start looking into building my own keyboards if it ever becomes standard, somehow.

I had some getting it to run on a Chuwi HI8 but the thing is a terrible tablet-PC pretending to be a terrible Android tablet…
Nope: My lathe runs Linux.
And those machines are still good enough to browse the web, or for text processing. I usually set them up with a small SSD for booting fast and a large HDD for the /home folder. Hell I keep a D410PT around for the times I need an absolutely silent machine (Well, as soon as I buy a picoATX for it, it will be. Too bad I missed the computer-2 case).
A SATA SSD is a good way to speed up an aging machine, one without M2 slot. But glad to know I qualify as a professional user.
I didn’t have to in order to figure out if Lemmy was something I wanted to use. Neither for IRC. That makes Discord vastly inferior to both.
