  • Yesterday I watched it and “your idol” hasn’t stop playing in my head. I’m not into kpop at all, but like to keep up with some of the popular animated movies. And it blew my mind how masterfully crafted the climax was. The choreo, the lyrics, the camera… Even the sex appeal. a total banger! The movie overall is ok, but that villain song has some strong staying power.

  • Lemmy by a light year. I was mostly a lurker without account on reddit but browsed it (too) many years. When I made an account only once a comment I made gained engagement, and it turned into a cesspool so disgusting devolving into religious arguments and such, fortunately I didn’t noticed until days later. The comment I made was about how you should spay your pets.

So yeah after that I closed my account, then left after the api debacle. (And started lurking here) but recently created a lemmy account so I could filter the political content out, and I contribute to a project I believe in.

I also like that I feel that I’m actually talking to real people here, and there’s no algorithm, no tracking, no corpo influence.

  • I have a few favorite ones in english (which is not my first language) of the top of my head:

-Document/documented (I particularly like the Q sound of the second syllable and the cadence of the pronunciation)

-Cocoon. (Just great. Satisfying to say. Makes me feel cosy. 10’s across the board)

-Gazebo. (Very removed from the usual sounds of my native language, unusual but fun)

    Edited to add:

In spanish: Panóptico (panopticon) also satisfying to sat and with good cadence

  • I’m an artist. I don’t like AI art, I don’t use Ai in any capacity. Could the tech.be used by the right hands to create a legitimate work of art? Sure . an incredibly select few(Not in a “generate this image” type of way, but I can see how one could make an argument for something conceptual and interesting done with the tech)

But the wider picture is that it will steal work from most of the skilled artist workforce, we are not able to compete whith the scale of ai output; and not everyone is suited for the independent artist life, because it’s fucking hard. Also the visual literacy of the average person will go further down the drain, and It’s already very poor, AI will kill a lot of future potential artists… this is not even touching the effects this technology has in other areas of our lives.

Ai exists to make the average person more stupid, more reliant in the corpos, more isolated in their own bubble. It makes me despair, but also fuels me to keep doing art, even if it is only for myself. I will not let them take the only thing I’m good at away from me.

I was going to say this one, I was crying all throughout the screening 'cause the themes I picked up fom the beginning of the movie moved me deeply and resonated on a personal level. It’s also visually astonishing, that alone would have made me cry. A fantastic experience.
