I feel like you’re describing the people who are crazy about AI right now.

I feel like you’re describing the people who are crazy about AI right now.

Somehow you consider even a little pushback crazy but won’t listen to people when they ask you not to jump into AI madness headfirst wearing blinders?

I think you’re trying to solve a NP Complete problem (Boolean Satisfiability) via brute force. It’s expected you will hit this wall. Try to use heuristics/guess work.

My setup is pyenv + venv + requirements.txt/pyproject.toml

good usecase for find … -delete. Test it out on a trial directory and it’s should work. You can set -maxdepth if you are concerned about sumlinks… but i bet there is an option to not follow symlinks

Huh… I was trying to make a joke like people usually do at the expense of emacs but I came across some humourless accounts. (And this is my alt… don’t be weirded out)

Replying from my alt:
I was trying to make a joke but seems it rubbed off the wrong way. Although I do think there’s a philosophical discussion of complexity to be had here.
The problem with thinking “We have now simplified xyz software” is software developers have this bad habit of often assuming that the world updates to the latest and greatest version of software the moment they deploy it and they erase any semblence of past versions, shortcomings, or even workarounds that others may have deployed and trained their muscle memories on.
Complexity actually goes up the more versions of software that are released in the world.
You now have neovim <= 0.12, <= 0.13, 0.13 to keep in your head if someone comes to you for advice on how to setup this cool editor on their distro and they may or may not be able to upgrade to the latest version.

if the US can enter the middle east at their own will and bomb the civilians there then yes those same people should be allowed to enter the US for free. You want powers but not the consequences?

It’s not just “woke”. DHH actively longs for the London of old with less brown people. Which is a bit tone deaf when you don’t understand that white people meddling in the middle east and africa are reasons why said brown people came as refugees on boats to Europe.
Allowing only raw resources to flow from these regions but putting up a wall for people is un-just.

Do we finally have something of a module system for C?

you get free electricity or your PC parts are made of magic? running inference workloads frequently is going to have a significant impact. This is on top of using your PC for other things like gaming and work.

More the merrier! Start it anyway!
On a side note, your installation of Void reminded me of my very first archlinux experience back when ‘archinstall’ wasn’t a thing yet.

most people are going to destroy their home servers running these workloads

congratulations on finally getting on the same page as the article and the rest of us

is it illegal to write abstraction APIs on top of CUDA? I have heard this argument for half of this decade and i think something that abstracts the CUDA stuff into a thin HAL that can also call other GPU Progamming interfaces would avoid vendor lock-in.
although, I guess the main challenge is the ever-changing surface of the CUDA api?
Edit: Ok so if the argument is we should be able to use NVIDIA GPUs without CUDA that any amount of abstraction is a moot point.

So, the evil is pretending that it’s done out of the goodness of their heart. We all know the end game.

that’s not a honest argument is it now?
Modern society is built on destruction and cruelty. Doesn’t mean I can advice somebody to give up living in society and sound smart.
To suggest that “compromising on ideals for practicality” is the same as “roll-over and accept it” is dishonest and only done by people who want to win the argument by attrition so they get what they want.
