Perhaps it’s the app you’re using? I would say most people (at least on Lemmy, where I’m viewing this from) don’t tag the OP unless there’s something specific they want to draw their attention to or if they’re calling them out specifically in a reply. They get notifications of all your comments so no real need to tag them. It’s a lot like reddit in that respect (again, I’m on Lemmy, using the Voyager app. Another app might be different).

Yeah like … I trust my husband, and I am also not his keeper, so I do not need to know where he is 24/7. I find it very odd and invasive.

When my parents would say something was really far away, instead of saying it was “out in Timbuktu” like everyone else here, they would go “it’s out in Gadansk, Poland!” I think it’s a really place but like why there specifically? Neither of them had ever been. We are not Polish. Just why lmao.
