2·6 hours agoI wish workers everywhere would realise our common class interests in standing up to the demonic capital class and their political lapdogs.
that fact that simple racism can easily leveraged to defeat this means that it’s going to take a LONG time for this realization to happen.

4·6 hours agomen like kling were one of the reasons why i stopped being a software engineer; they’re so incredibly common in the field and so highly rewarded by it that it’s clear that the field’s leaders are aligned with them.
it makes me wonder what i’ll be doing once firefox is no longer a thing.

3·6 hours agothere’s always been a strong undercurrent of tech “libertarians” who refuse to understand that their “neutrality” is in service to fascists and pointing this fact out loud makes you the problem.

7·7 hours agoI wonder if China’s population is more or less ethnically and culturally homogeneous than that of the USA, and whether this should be considered a bit of an apples to oranges comparison.
the defining characteristic(s) of an ethnic minority is a artificial distinction that the culture you exist within conditions you to regard as important and it will be different from one culture to the next.
thanks to colonialism, some of it will have a superficial analogue to your own culture, but the ingrained distinctions stretch back for hundreds to thousands of years longer and most are imperceptible to foreigners; hence the entire “monoculture” assumption by westerners of the (mostly) non-melinated variety.
happens to me when i’m drunk; but not too drunk. lol
by that logic, over 100 million people died because of the united states; so it’s still better
everyone seems to keep losing them so that makes sense. lol

3·4 days agoand then, if it keeps getting more popular, it gets banned, then unbanned, then sold to isreal like tiktok. lol
my current laptop is probably an extreme example since i get around 4 hours of battery life on default fedora 43 workstation, but almost 8 hours (DOUBLE) on windows 11.
i’m aware that i can get longer battery life if i experiment with the power settings or try different power utilities (ie powertop), but i’ve learned from experience that the battery life will never be the same as it is using windows.
i’ve also learned from experience that only open source firmware projects like (ie coreboot) can give you the battery performance that can rival windows and mac and i got to enjoy that by buying linux-first laptops vendors with open source firmware on it like system76, tuxedo, etc.
the most irritating thing about the laptop i have now is that it will charge from 5% to 80% in 50 minutes when it’s running windows; but it takes almost 2 hours to do the same thing running fedora so i will probably buy from system76 again next time i need a new laptop. lol
i recommended this because i tried it once and it did work, however i learned the hard way that the image in the usb stick is different than the installed image and i had to use the usb stick’s image to find the exact module and configuration so that i could duplicate it on the installed image…fyi
and it too was a realtek nic. lol

some part of me wants to live in your world for this; i assumed that everyone knew that this was the case since it’s on cnn/bbc/al jazeera/rt/etc.
