But they did make a lot of mistakes. The biggest was putting religion as #1 priority and kicking me out when i was 17 because they suspected i was living in sin.

The feed is simply a reflection of what people submit and engage with. You have two choices:
- block meme communities or communities that allow memes. This curates your own feed.
- make your own community and post the content you want to see.

Just fyi there is matrix which is federated but it doesn’t use activity pub protocol and it’s not directly a drop in replacement discord. Voice/ video/ screen sharing aren’t quite on the same level as discord.
