30·1 month agoI was told the term comes from your dead name being what they put on your tombstone. The name you’d be unwillingly known as after you died. The erasure of trans lives by transphobic family members. I don’t think its wrong to use it outside of that context but it would be bad to lose that history.

81·2 months agoBack in 2021 I accidentally bought a 64 GB kit rather than the 32 GB one I intended to. No regrets now but really felt like an excess back then.

21·3 months agoI don’t, it’s not better than simply thinking about things myself. There isn’t institutional pressure to use it and if there was I would simply lie and not use it.

3·4 months agonot really a linux issue more of an application issue but I use Remmina for work and it crashes a couple times a day and that’s annoying. For a while Ubuntu didn’t have the GNOME changes that keeps the remote RDP session running when the client disconnects and I’d have to re-open all my remote applications a few times a day. I was expecting to have to wait till 26.04 to get that but a few weeks ago that update reached my work laptop and now I mostly have parity to how my old Windows work laptop worked.
Yeah dragons are pretty cool I guess.
