Lmao that explains so much about them
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•It's Father's Day in the United States. What is a memory of your father that left the greatest impact on your life?English33·4 days agoHe taught me that relationships only work when everyone is getting out of the relationship what they need. Not just romantic, either. It’s been an important lesson that’s stuck with me my whole life, it still reminds me to be attentive to other people’s needs and not just hide in my own head.
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If someone where to use the term "Adult Playground", what would you think it describes?English8·6 days agoI would absolutely go to an adult playground, that sounds awesome
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•All right music fans, what's your favorite band/musician and how many times have you seen them live?English3·7 days agoI just put on both albums and listened to them through. I really enjoyed When It Comes and Clean off Make Yourself. I totally forgot I know Pardon Me too lol. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. was interesting as hell, I’m not entirely sure how much I liked it. A few songs kinda reminded me of RHCP, but most were just totally their own thing. Some awesome drums in this album, which I really appreciate. New Skin and Nebula were probably my favorites off that one, Glass was fun too. I’m not sure which album was better, I guess I’ll need to check out the rest later!
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•They are officially known as string trimmers. Where are you geographically and what do you call them?English6·7 days agoI’m pretty sure I call them weed whackers, but I’ve heard weed eater not irregularly. I’m up in the Washington area.
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When were you wrong about something?English111·7 days agoI didn’t realize “banal” was pronounced “ban all” and cluelessly described something as “b-anal”
I have time, but not the energy. I’ll usually play on the weekends some, but after work and getting dinner made I don’t usually want to engage my brain much
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•All right music fans, what's your favorite band/musician and how many times have you seen them live?English3·7 days agoYou fukken rock. I’m gonna start with Make Yourself since it has the song I know and then try S.C.I.E.N.C.E. after I finish my current album. Thanks so much for the rec!

toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•All right music fans, what's your favorite band/musician and how many times have you seen them live?English4·7 days agoDelain is probably my fave band, but I’ve only gotten the chance to see them once (I did get a picture with them though!) It was a hell of a show, with Xandria and Edge of Paradise. Great performances, and it was at a smaller venue so I got to be right up by the stage. It was so much fun.
A bit weirdly, my second favorite Nightwish I’ve seen like four times. I’ve liked them since I was around fourteen though, so I guess maybe not that weird.
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When we microwave in our house we say we're going to "zap it". What do you say?English1·7 days agoI’m in the zap it gang, but I think I’ve used nuke it occasionally too.
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•what are some texts you found cute between you and your SO?English7·9 days agoHe’s wonderful and I adore him 💜
Edit: For context, our washing machine hasn’t turned on for ten months, and I’d been going to the laundromat biweekly. It abruptly started working a couple days ago, so we’re excitedly washing everything
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's an unexpected skill you have?English4·9 days agoDrawing has always been super impressive to me. I pretty much gave it up in high school, but my husband is an incredible artist and I just always appreciate seeing what other people do. It seems like it’s hella zen when you get into it. Awesome skill :)
toomanypancakes@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's an unexpected skill you have?English12·9 days agoOh hell yeah! I’ve been drumming for 20 years, it’s the best instrument out there. Enjoy, it’s hella fun!
I was just asking for general tips tbh, I have experience driving and rode a motorcycle for several years, I just never had a manual car before. If that makes more sense?
