Don’t worry, we’ll blame teachers for this too. Or make them responsible for controlling it in some ridiculous way.

Meta paid “teen ambassadors” to promote Instagram and hand out swag to their friends at school.

What I’m hearing is that we need to bring back bullying

These companies are inherently evil. They can’t help themselves as their business relies on making awful decisions and kids are worse for it.

This article is really worth the read.

Mistaking structural factors, like the profit imperative amidst an enshittogenic regulatory environment, for moral failings is unhelpful. For-profit companies will do what they can get away with, which is why these lawsuits are so important.

Ai, tiktok, facebook are all digital drugs.

These companies have a huge number of employees who specialize in addiction and use them to ensure you can’t look away.

50 years from now, people will look upon unregulated algorithmic “social” media the same way as we today look upon unregulated smoking in the 50s. “How could they? Didn’t they know it was addictive as hell and terrible for your health and that of your kids?”

That is, if there are still any people left 50 years from now…

Or preserved articles stating the effects of social media. I reckon all the papers will be bought up and their archives ‘adapted to suit the new times better’.

I don’t think they’ll be able to make the papers go away, what they will do is “flood the zone” with “overwhelming evidence” that the papers are absurd lies and fantastical fiction, like Roswell and Area 51…

Hmm true, drown it out. Still, future archaeologists might prove adept at surfacing the actual articles. After the first of those is made public, the entire archives might still get wiped or ‘adapted’.

My suspicion is that the Epstein files are packed full of garbage, there are truths in there, but they have likely pushed in so much obvious falsehood as well that they can convince some audiences to ignore the whole thing as a pack of lies.

As for your archaeologists, some will no doubt find the truth and recognize it for that it is, but will they be allowed to effectively communicate their findings to the masses? I suspect that all depends on who is in charge.

I suspect we’ve got quite the chaotic froth of “who’s in charge” of the world today.
