I have the tiniest conflict of interest when it comes to police unions. Police shouldn’t have unions, buuuut my state’s state police union bargains alongside the other state employee unions. No one wants to cut pay or benefits to the police, so my pay and benefits are also fairly stable.

I get why we do it strategically, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth every contract cycle.

Agreed. Whenever any of my chud relatives start whining about how unions don’t work, I get to haul out the police and firefighters unions to shut them up. They’re worth the trouble for that alone.

Maybe. I don’t have a firm basis for my belief, so I’ll muddle on it a bit more.

both public and private sector jobs will be shit upon by those in positions of power. not all the time or by each one, but power tends to intoxicate. intoxicated people do regretful shit such as treating those around them poorly.

labor unions benefit society as a whole, across all sectors, belief systems, races, trades, etc.

join a union and build the middle class.
