Wouldn’t be the first step to gain trust then infiltrate all systems based on it. Once it has infiltrated and is part of basically anything electronic, advises or controls any and all policy making, business and finance it starts with pushing actual harmful policies but people are so dependent now that they can only follow.

Bit late to the party, but this is a German internal culture war. Basically each village has its own name for those. Some names make more sense then others… Berlin calls them essentially pancakes other places call them Berliner and no one is giving an inch on what to call them.

With worse audio quality, the shitty metallic sounds often really rub me the wrong way.

What is it that you don’t like about them? Personally I am really enjoying ‘all the things she said’ and ‘all about us’ .

While sex is in it it was never the focus of it imho. I love the series but I do think ppl. do somewhat overstate the amount of sex that is happening. Sure it gets to be a tad bit more frequent in the later books but is not the main focus. The world building is amazing and the story is fantastic. So even if you are not too into the whole sex/romance stuff you ca enjoy the series.

I always loved the Bartimaeus books from Jonathan Stroud.

I also think if pop culture catch-up is a concern you could read Twilight and Eragon both were quite influential in my social circle at the time they were new. I have read both and I liked them too. I don’t think that they are revolutionary or the best pice of writing but they had arguably an impact.
