Revolt is more closer to discord but Matrix is better cause it has ee2e, you can host your own server and my favorite feature Clients

Probably that one Asus Laptop i remember putting Windows 10 on it but decided to downgrade to 7 cause it was faster

You can still install chrome via flatpak and their website
