Ukraine is not the US, and not even a part of Nato. I’d love the empire to fall. A land grab against Russia’s neighbor isn’t some benevolent fight against imperialism

You understand the concept of mutually assured destruction right?
And what’s crazy about all those countries you’ve listed is none of them have nuclear arms.
So, you think America is going to invade Russia, two nuclear armed nations? Or did you think a country the size of Ukraine was going to do it first? (maybe excluding invading Crimea). Why would Ukraine invade exactly?
My serious alternative is defend against invasion, don’t invade other countries. Pre-empting invasion with your own invasion is some Israel in 1969 logic
The only explanation for not distancing yourself from your Nazi history and instead leaning into it is because you’re a Nazi.
Seems pretty cut and dry to me, but I’m not a Nazi so that makes me pretty
biasedbasedThey’re killing Nazis and they’re justified in doing it. Seems like you think it’s worth the cost to you, but I don’t know what you believe. So what is your position here?
Assuming every Ukrainian is a Nazi, and every Russian isn’t (which is obviously extreme on both ends, but let’s simplify and take a maximalist position favoring you.)
There’s a lot of estimates out there, but taking rough middle estimates, 500k Ukrainian forces have been killed, and 1,250k Russian forces. So you think it is good, logical even, to melt 2.5 non Nazis in favor of killing one? Would you sacrifice your life and a friend or family member to kill one Ukrainian Nazi?
So, become the invader? Start the war? That seems to be what you think should happen right?
It’s hyperbole.
And famously the Nazis were just chilling out in Germany and they got invaded by another country.
It’s hyperbolic. What are you willing to accept in the name of “killing Nazis”?
Oh, so Russia should just exterminate the entire population and take that entire landmass. You’ve painted the entire country with the same broad brush and they obviously deserve it. The hundreds of thousands of people dying on both sides with surly root out the Nazi scurge and not legitimize them as a defensive force. /s in case it wasn’t mega clear.
You’re correct, there are some Nazis in Ukraine and it’s certainly close to Nato and a possible threat on Russia’s border. It’s complicated. An irridentist invasion and war is not based actually, for everyone involved.
You’ve got it. Ukraine is a little less black and white than Israel Palestine, so you’ll see some comments that are anti Ukraine.

I care less that he did those warcrimes, and more so that he atones for them and does positive things. Or he can get shot I don’t really care, either works for me.
Analysis is not justification
Why on earth do you think I’m a trump supporter?Nevermind I see the context of your statement from other comments.I figured this is exactly where I’d get this information from people who knew more about the guy and the reasons they hate him so much. I’m very pro Palestine and I’ll overlook a lot of shit to anyone that will be a reliable vote against Israel man. (That may be wish casting and stupid, and I ultimately don’t think Platner is that guy even if he looked like it for a bit.)
There’s a difference between accidentally running over someone and intentionally doing it. The effect is the same, the intent is not. I’m not saying he was good or righteous or morally correct or anything.
I didn’t say any of those things and I don’t think that.
So he tells this elaborate story only to leave out the one detail that he actually was doing it for fun and to kill civilians?
If afterwards he says he shouldn’t have been there and done that, is anti Israel, and his opponents are pro Israel and in the case of Susan Collins literally voted to send his ass and all the other thousands of troops there… Yeah probably. (edit: I guess for your hypothetical they would be a senator and primary challenger that’s pro ICE and the sitting senator is a rubber stamp for ICE funding increases and/or voted to create ICE)
My reaction is he wasn’t killing civilians for his own kicks and implies he’s exactly what I said, a stupid crayon eater.

My bad, I reading the casualty numbers as if they were killed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Russo-Ukrainian_war
So that’s still about 500k, and not taking into account civilians, injuries, and all the other costs of war on both sides. Point still stands.
