Ironically, the Vintage 30 is not very vintage at all, both chronologically and sonically. It’s basically the default speaker cabinet for recording metal guitars. That + a Shure SM57 microphone + any decent high-gain amp head will get you 90% of the way to a good metal tone that cuts through the mix. 🤘

The question is legitimate, and possibly even the answer depending on who said it and what the context is.
