5·2 months agoYou have a choice but the system is rigged so you pick the one that the people in charge want. Electric cars are way too expensive and gas is subsidized by the government how is that a fair choice? Also my state charges me a super high tax every year on my electric car as a penalty for not buying gas

You would think with a PhD he would have had his company look at how other cars have been built for over 100 years and learn from that.

2·2 months agoIt’s not my taste. I am a software engineer and have to build these things. there are features you just can’t do with out JavaScript. Features that are expected from modern apps.
If you need a basic form you don’t need JavaScript but if you want to change anything on the page after it’s already loaded you do. That’s a huge limitation for any kind of app.

63·2 months agoIt’s not because of the scrapers though. It’s probably because JavaScript is needed to make the page interactive in most cases. Almost everything is a single page web app now you can’t do that without JavaScript.
People could make old style sites where there is a full page reload every time you click a link but they aren’t as nice.
But what does being faster really get you? Who are you racing against?
Also it’s not actually faster. It writes the code faster but all of the other processes still take the same time. Writing code is only a small part of a software engineers job. If the code gets done faster they still need to document it, get it approved, add alerting, test it and fix any bugs. Those parts still take the same amount of time so you are only really going marginally faster at best assuming the code has no issue that need to be fixed.
Also since the code part is done so fast those other tasks start to pile up and become a bottle neck.
They are selling this like it’s a full fledged engineer for $200 a month but that’s not what it is at all.

They won’t let you play YouTube videos but they can play this shit? Fuck that
