This is what im getting from Tracker Control. For Tuta its blocked, for Droidify theres like 4 trackers allowed (i dont know if blocking them would mess with the function of the app). And 2 for PipePipe cause it is using a google app. Above PipePipe is Blorp, it has three, 2 from Google and one from Fastly.

And for tracker control, the ads that are allowed to go through, if i block them some of these apps would straight up break and not work.

Im gonna be honest, i cant stand going on Github. Its difficult to read anything on there, since im not in that space to understand that language.

I use Peertube cause i got tired of the AI push, garbage, ad-polcolpyse, and every Youtuber is in some type of really stupid or concerning drama.

I wish Peertube had more diversity, thats my only problem with them. None of the spoofing alternatives of YT function properly, and i fell that they are gonna get closed off once Google really hits the fan of closing Android.

Maybe that’ll get more people to focus on Peertube, cause besides Rumble, thats the only platform i know thats a true alternative.

This is hard as shit to avoid when your job requires you to use a Iphone, but they dont want you to download “the Chinese apps” 😑

Thats why there are PDAs and Cyberdecks. Thats for that purpose. Cant make phone calls but its portable but for Linux mobile it should at least get that right.

See that’s my gripe with Linux. I don’t want a PDA, I can do all of that tinkering on PC.

I get the issue with the bank apps. Especially if your someone who needs to do a lot of transactions over the phone. But all these other apps, at this point we should have alternatives, its ridiculous.

But does it actually work like a phone? Calling, texting, no issues?

Thats why we need an alternative.someone, some company, anyone that can make software that dosent rely on Google just to work.

Its crazy that even in the degoogle world, we still have to rely on Google. if the whole point is to not use Google, then what’s the point? We should have our stand alone apps should we not? We can’t make them but someone our there can.

Honestly, at this point we just need alternatives to some of these Google apps in general.

Yeah, you can buy any phone to install any OS system (if you can even find the right model for it) or just degoogle it and use it like that. Thats not a big deal.

The ditching only comes in when you can’t use apps because your OS no longer supports it. That too can happen to any phone.

Semi rant: (Pet peeve about the part in the chart about Apple) I use to have an iPhone, and experienced the phones from an iPhone 6, 12 to iPhone 15 and I can say that max is like 2-4 years, not whatever the hell that article is trying to suggest. Shit, if your phone is 1-2 OS system older than what an app requires, its gonna force you to update the phones. Longetivity of iPhones is very lackluster.

Even though that’s true. Phones really shouldnt be expensive. GOS isn’t supporting the older phones, I think the oldest you can go now is the pixel 7. Since GOS is stopping for the Pixel 11, Is there any other alternative OS that can be used for pixels? Or where are the other phones that supports GOS?

Google is closing in on their phones. GOS users in a time span of 3-7 years (depending on the pixel they have) would unfortunately have to find an alternative after that lifespan unless GOS starts supporting other phones that isnt breaking the bank. GOS as well is basically closing off their OS market. Which is why I made that comment. If you want the OS now, they’re gonna make you pay for it.

Motorola is unfortunately gonna be in the same boat too when it comes to the prices. And I highly doubt GOS is gonna focus on their cheaper phones because they notoriously have poorer software. So now, it seems GOS is gonna be an exclusive feature. If you want it, your gonna have to pay for it.

I personally don’t trust Motorola due to having poor experiences with their budget phones. Its not worth with unless you shell out the money.

Oh come on with these prices!! This is BS.😑 This is why I got my Teracube 2s. Its around 350 getting the degoogled version and thats it.

Your getting scammed paying over 1000+ for these phones, people, don’t do it. Linux needs to come on already and make resonable priced phones.

I got one of the budget phones from Muerna, the Teracube 2s. You gotta go really light on the apps on this phone if you want to find e/OS alternatives, otherwise itll be either laggy, slow or just break and won’t work. Fennec has a lot of privacy features on its app, to the point where some things just won’t freaking load if your really concerned about internet traffic, ads, trackers etc. For me it just dosent work on this phone unless I use it on my other phone ive been experimenting with, Galaxy A16 5g.
