Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Can you really seperate the art from the artist?
2·15 days agoI absolutely loved Alex Grey’s art for years and years without actually looking into the guy. Turns out he’s a cult leader and he fucked a corpse. Lots of his fans know about it and excuse it just because they listen to Tool

1·23 days agoThe manual release is only accessible from the inside as well, so even if the driver gets out, you get to watch your kid burn in a car seat because you can’t open the door from the outside

818·23 days agoThe funny part is, the doors have a manual release on the inside, Tesla owners are just too dumb to read the user manual.
The not funny part is, the ones in the back are deep inside the bottom of the door, there’s no possible way a child in a car seat could open the back door in an emergency.

It did get me 3 free drinks at a music festival so there’s like +50 bucks in value right there.

It takes a lot more effort than it’s worth. They use multiple layers of tracking to enforce the ban.
An IP ban is just layer 1. You’ll have to change your IP address and your location.
After that, they use fingerprinting data. It’s actually terrifying how much a website can gather on you. They know what devices you use, screen resolution, operating system, hardware specs, browser cache, cookies, what fonts you have installed, basically everything about your phone or computer can be tracked with browser fingerprinting.
After fingerprinting, they track your habits on the site. What subs your old account was subscribed to / active in, what kind of stuff you upvote and comment on, how you “talk” in comments, hell probably even your typing cadence.
Your best bet would be to stay off the site for a few months, and use a new device with an anti-tracking browser and a “residential” VPN.
OR… You can just hang out here and help this community grow. Reddit sucks balls now anyway, help us make a better one.
