I’ve got a Lexmark laser printer, and while there are cheaper subscription toners, you can pay the higher price for normal toner, and buy compatibles, for now at least.

It’s not though, is it? You’re replying to a question post here, in a community for questions. A significant portion of Lemmy is communities for questions, media, memes, and tech conversations.

Of the posts that share links, a decent number of those are either posted with a summary to encourage discussion, or are at least posted by a human that you can speak to. A headline and link to another site, posted by a bot, does nothing to encourage interaction with Lemmy. It’s literally a link that points to content somewhere else

I haven’t seen much from the rest of the instance, but I blocked the bot a while ago. It’s a bot that drives engagement to other sites by posting nothing but plain links. I don’t see how that’s supposed to be helpful or useful 🤷🏻‍♂️

I witnessed something like this once. I worked for a pawn shop, wiping and reinstalling Windows on computers they were selling, but occasionally working on one of the counters if they were short staffed.

One day a regular customer brought his PS2 in to trade, so it had to be tested first. The manager took it as a training moment for me and and a few others, and connected it to the main TVs around the store so that we could all see how he checked the system.

The customer had left a rather hardcore DVD in the drive and completely forgotten about it, until it started playing on the big screen, and everyone in the store learned about his preferences.
