This isn’t Tesla hate from my side either. The general consensus from enthusiasts since the beginning is Tesla is way off the mark. But the latest self driving upgrades using more LLM tech has apparently been a big step up. By that I mean going from poor assisted self driving to good assisted self driving. Getting it from there to no driver behind the wheel is another matter all together. Maybe they had a single jump or maybe it’s a new path of consistent progress, I have no idea.

I’m not expecting much from Tesla. I would absolutely love to be wrong.

Expecting more from baidu, pony.ai and zoox more than Tesla. Hell even BYD with the Chinese backing it has might beat Tesla.

Was hoping at this point in time Waymo would be expanding more aggressively.

But no one else seems immediately on the horizon and Waymo is consistently expanding well so they are doing very well indeed.

I’m excited for the last mile problem to be solved and be able to cycle on roads without drivers that actually wish I was dead or playing about on their phone. Also I hate driving.

But there was a lot of lies that represented legitimate concerns and remain didn’t really do a good enough job of bringing leave along with them. Pleanty of “we got lied too, no on told us”. No no no no. Remain clearly said the truth and you listened to the lies.

But people were told immigration would go down. People have been wanting immigration to go down for 60 years and it’s never happened. First direct vote about immigration going down is obviously going to be a big factor. Didn’t happen though so far right will win soon.

Think the booster has largely been going well so maybe they are just confident with it and running the risk. The ship probably still isn’t ready now so maybe they happy to risk it.

Good point on 3 being the tested one though. But this isn’t any old engineering. I imagine they xray-ed a lot of that booster and know the structural integrity far better than a normal product.

I thought with falcon pre used boosters were more valuable as they have been proven? Maybe it’s the same.

For years I didn’t realise it was about American football.

In American football if you attack well you get to attack again, and again and again. You literally don’t have to defend. The only thing better than defending well is not defending at all.

Obviously this reaches a point where you attack so well you score. But even if the other team attacks perfectly it becomes a 0 sum game.

Also american football is a stupid game.

I wasn’t thinking the second but that would be an example. I would say conversations with men over this topic is a lot easier than you would expect. There is support there. Bringing up with women who want a men to not cry or be sensitive can be difficult.

The highest frequency I see of it is when issues are discarded when it is an issue with men. Be it homelessness, suicide, job inequality, domestic violence or any other issue. But not for women. It seems men are worthless in a lot of people’s eyes because they aren’t women.

Or equally men are responsible for all the bad things in the world because simply they are men and men are responsible. For example a common issue is when men say they open up to a woman and that women used that to attack them. Then someone might say this is the patriarchy and toxic masculinity in action and men need to sort it out. Even though the man has done absolutely nothing wrong only the woman. Deflecting any responsibly from women doing something they shouldn’t have.

The inequality of responses from those being harmed, or undervalued and those responsible for the negativity seems at times strongly dependant on if it is a man or a women.

At least that is what I have seen mostly. But I’m more curious about others.
