Ah, I looked it up, it seems it actually has multiline copy/paste? Alt-A to mark the start of the text, Alt-6 to copy, Ctrl-U to paste. I’ll try it out next time I’m stuck in nano, thanks!

I don’t get you people. Proper copy/paste support is “extended functionality”? I beg to differ. This is basic functionality.
And no, single line copy/paste as offered by nano, or copy and paste through the terminal is not proper copy/paste.

1·2 months agoYeah, for certain apps you may need to do that. I’ve had to do that with Nextcloud and Linkwarden. But Immich will happily work with a shareable link.

Only Amiga makes it possible!
Sorry, I’ve only run the X port of it, not wayland
There is a port to Linux! I entertain myself by installing and starting it on colleagues’ computers when they leave them unattended unlocked.

Also, higher ram usage by programs makes it less likely that their actively used RAM (ie what it is actually currently using) fits in your CPUs caches, making them run slower.
I personally use fzf to do basically the same thing, I just have to press ctrl-r before I start to type, and it does fuzzy matching to your history and shows more than one alternative at a time

5·9 months agoSo I had a similar experience. I was a vegetarian, I don’t like coffee, I don’t drink alcohol.
First the waiter put the wine in front of me and the soda in front of my wife.
Then I got the meat and she the veggie dish.
Then finally she got the white tea and I the coffee.
You should get some, they are rad
It would make sense that a code editor could use a more limited subset of text rendering that could be more optimized.
Perhaps a bit surprisingly, Microsoft actually has pretty good documentation on OpenType. Here’s info on what shaping applies to “standard” scripts:

And here’s the landing page for the latest OpenType spec:

Specifically for ligatures, you’re looking for the liga feature which is specified in the font’s GSUB table.

Absolutely, child marriage is legal in Iran, which makes it especially ironic in how they try to use the Epstein files in their propaganda against the US.
