People be making Eve SSTOs, meanwhile my 5 stage monstrosity can barely get from Eve surface to orbit with a single Kerbal strapped to a chair.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Lonely people of the internet, What are your thoughts on valentimes day?
3·12 days agoFelt kinda sad about it, but I feel sad most days so it’s not really any different. Hung out with a friend which was nice.

Technology@lemmy.world•'No One Should Have a Copyright on Vance Being Booed': Video From Olympics Blocked on X
182·19 days agoThe copyright doesn’t apply to the event of Vance being booed itself, it applies to that specific video recording of it. Sure the video creator is a dick for getting it taken down, but they’re within their legal rights to.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What subscription based services are actually worth the money?
201·23 days agoYour own email domain + an account at a privacy respecting email service is more than worth it. Avoids the privacy nightmare that is using Google/Microsoft for your email, and gives you the flexibility to change email providers on a whim if your current one starts doing anything you don’t like.

6·23 days agoOnline backups should be an absolute last resort in the case of something catastrophic like a house fire, not your only copy of important data. Losing them should just mean a little less redundancy in that regard.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Cheapest way to back up a *lot* of data?
8·2 months agoSort your data into stuff you absolutely need to keep (personal files and such) and stuff you’d be okay with losing (less important files, device backups, downloads you can redownload, etc). Then only back up the former. As for backup medium, ServerPartDeals often has some pretty good deals on storage; they were selling refurbished 12TB drives for $80 a pop a while back.

Technology@lemmy.world•Windows users keep losing files to OneDrive, and many don't know why
23·2 months agoMost people aren’t choosing to enable OneDrive; it’s enabled by default, and not obvious how to disable.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Ignoring the internet bill itself, how many paid online services do you have?
3·2 months agoI pay for several domains, as well as mailbox.org for email. Aside from that, nothing.
I’m confused; what’s the difficulty shown here?

It’s a sure sign of a healthy non-bubble economy when a random Substack post can cause a stock market crash.
