That’s what a bum towel is for! Or some sort of something washable you can set down wherever you’re going to sit/lie.

lol having multiple cats and referring to them as “the staff” instead of pets.
The staff shat on the carpet again. The staff woke me up to feed them at 4am. The staff were so excited to see me when I came home from work. So excited they shat on the carpet again.

Technology@lemmy.world•Waymo Pulled Its Cars From the Freeway After One Fled Police With Horrified Couple on Board
10·23 days agoA self driving vehicle that you own, sure, but the point of a taxi is that you aren’t supposed to drive. A passenger doesn’t need a drivers license to enter a taxi, doesn’t need to think about how much they’ve had to drink. Also im not from the US but do these things even have steering wheels and pedals? I tried searching and found some articles where Wayne unveiled cars without them, but couldn’t see if they’re now in use commonly.

Technology@lemmy.world•NASA fired up a prototype of its electromagnetic thruster inside a vacuum chamber, reaching power levels of up to 120 kilowatts—the highest achieved in U.S. tests of an electric propulsion system
23·2 months agoInteresting read, this part caught my eye:
Launching a crewed spacecraft to Mars might require 2 to 4 megawatts of power, meaning multiple MPD thrusters operating for more than 23,000 hours. This presents a challenge as the hardware operates at high temperatures, and the team needs to prove that the thruster’s components can withstand the heat for multiple hours during upcoming tests.
Would the thrusters really run the full 23k hours? That’s just shy of 960 days, surely once you reach a certain speed you wouldn’t need to run them continuously at full power.

Europe@feddit.org•‘We love our Americans’: the German town rocked by Trump’s plan to withdraw US troops
8·2 months ago“I feel no ill will, it’s great, there’s cohesion,” he said of US-German ties. “But it’s not fair that we keep boosting your economy so y’all can make money off us.”
This is such a fucked point of view. What does he expect? That everywhere he spends money should be a US business? That all transactions should be in USD? That all sales taxes should go to the US government? Get fucked. He’s here on German soil using German taxpayer funded infrastructure. My all means, fuck the fuck off back to your shithole country. Once all the Americans are gone I would gladly move in if the lack of demand meant lower rent/property prices.

8·2 months agoNo, I’d pay 100€ to take the ICE from hbf to hbf. And that’s if I somehow need to buy a ticket for a train same day, cheaper if done in advance.
Especially if you’re nude.
