They’re not saying that offloading the responsibility to an algorithm is good, they’re saying it’s weird to assume a person is harmless based on nothing but two attributes.

They’re still blobs, but now they have color!

Many recipes share things like ingredients and steps, so you can combine them into a mega recipe without a ton of effort.
The biggest time challenge is baking temps (especially for sheet pan meals), but if you fudge the cook times a bit you can usually cook everything at the same temperature.

Anyone who is savvy enough to install an OS won’t have any issues installing specific programs, especially since most products that people would be using have a direct download for the deb/rpm.
And if you’re not tech savvy enough to install an OS, you’re probably already getting someone who is savvy to do computer work for you.
But, this isn’t the 2000s. Everyone knows the concept of an app store, and most mainstream distros have one featured prominently.
