Very occasionally wholesale pricing can be as low as $5/MWh. But normal wholesale price for 1MW is $50-100USD according to EIA historical data. Then you’d have all the distribution costs on top of that before it gets to the plane.

$5/MWh is a total misrepresentation.

Not unusual in the slightest. They’re often used as peaking plants that fire up when energy prices are driven high enough by demand. Can be setup to run on all sorts of different fuels.
