If you are talking about secure boot then use a linux distro that is signed like Ubuntu/Kubuntu, then you can leave it on for Windows to work properly and linux will boot without a problem.

Bloated container format that has many issues running software, somehow ignores system settings when it wants to and has a propriatary backend controlled by Canonical. Flatpaks are much better imo.

Kubuntu 25.10 minimal install doesnt put snaps on your system, a quick script later and I’ve got Firefox, Steam and Heroic official .deb files installed and running, then run this to make sure it never comes back:

sudo apt-mark hold snapd

If developers give a basic download with HD textures and english as the default language then the file size would come down drastically, then offer everything else as a separate download if required. I hate that games have gotten so damn huge and tend not to play anything over 15GB
