Meeting would require me to do things like clean my room, do laundry, shower, and leave my domicile. I am too depressed for all of that. I don’t want people to see me, I hate being around people.

7·2 days agoAbsolutely, but I think right now it’s important to be able to show that this behavior goes back decades and isn’t some new phenomenon that so many people act as though it is.
The NSA story they sat on was in 2007 when they published it, so literally has been 20 years this year.

16·2 days agoNYT also sat on the story about NSA wiretapping US citizens for over a year at the behest of the Bush admin. Later, DNI Clapper would deny that spying on Americans happened “wittingly,” a denial which would push Edward Snowden to leak information thst proved otherwise.

117·2 days agoI worked in news media in the Bush years and I got to see first hand how our national news promoted the lies coming from the Bush administration and helping spearhead support for an Iraq invasion.
The media has been a problem for a long time.

10·4 days agoIt actually takes a while to start building, honestly. I was unimpressed initially but wanted to know what all the fuss was about and by mid-way through the film I got it. At a certain point the mash-up of silent film, looney tunes gags, and video game mechanics of the main character slowly getting more tools and using them to move the plot forward starts to become brilliant in its elegance and how it ends up tying it all together pretty neatly.
If you just watch the first 20-ish minutes, you might feel like “how can they even make a movie out of this? It’s just a bunch of silly gags in a row,” but if you stick it out, the plot becomes more coherent, and things start to coalesce.

10·4 days agoI’ve always been of the opinion since fish can breathe underwater just like birds breathe above water, all fish are technically flying in their own environment.

Linux version of Rocket League still works but you can’t connect to the servers. They stopped supporting Linux when Epic bought them in 2019. So going on 7 years and the Linux version still works fine. Just as a counterpoint.

It actually made about $17.8 million domestically and $21.7 million worldwide. So on opening weekend it has already made seven times the cost of making the film.
I don’t watch YouTubers and know nothing about Markiplier except memes, but it’s good to see successful independent film of any sort. Congratulations to those who take chances.
