Should be reserved to professional hunters/game keepers, who would be entitled to rifle ownership as part of their job description, just like police forces or the military.
Privateers should not kill animals for sport.
Bows/crossbows should be restricted to use in special clubs, just like guns or rifles, where they are stored on premise.
Restricting slingshots would be hard to enforce, but I’d say carrying them in public should be just as illegal as carrying guns.
Tbh I’ve never seen a use case that requires ownership of a slingshot, other than maybe feeding fishes in preparation of a long cast.
I’m strictly anti-gun, as I believe are most Europeans. Civilians shouldn’t be allowed to keep ranged weapons, period.
I don’t live in Europe anymore, but it was about 2.5km one way. There was a closer one, but from a chain I absolutely hated, so there I’d only pick up heavy or bulky stuff, like drinks, toilet paper etc.
I’m rooted as well, but holding on to android 12 for dear life. So far the future releases bring a lot of unnecessary garbage and restrictions, and no real improvements.
Swype & Dragon was the predecessor of Swiftkey, and even though it was deprecated 7 years ago, it still works great if you get hold of an old apk.
I’ve heard that Android versions greater than 12 refuse to install it due to some outdated software api check, but there’s a friendly guy on the xda-dev forum who released a patched version.
I casually snack on cornichons straight out of the jar, or else with ham and camembert on a French baguette. In that case I’ll slice them lengthwise just so they don’t roll off.
Not once in my life.
Never had one, used one maybe 3 times in my life. I’ve let them run through until I heard the beep, then came over to check. Is that’s not how it works?
Very strange, I’m using water straight from the kettle just after bringing it to a full boil, and don’t taste anything plastic.
Is it an authentic aeropress, not a cheap knockoff? There are a bunch that sell under the same name but aren’t in fact manufactured by aeropress ltd., and those can taste off since the cheap plastic is not certified for use with boiling water, and might not even be bpa free.
So sorry for your loss!
As for my motivation, I did a year of work & travel in Norway after finishing my bachelor’s and picked up enough to be conversational. Actually I tried staying afterwards but could only score student jobs and temporary stuff, so decided to build my CV a bit more before going back.
Life took a few unexpected turns and instead of returning after a couple years, I ended up working all over Africa and then Asia for 15+ years, but I still kept going, thinking I would one day return.
Now that the time might have come in the near future (= next 2-ish years), I was looking more and more into the requirements and figured out that the wealth tax would break me - I’m by no means filthy rich, but they tax you on assets above ~160k USD, and since I don’t qualify for any government pensions due to my erratic work, I’ve set aside a good chunk of investments for my retirement that’d effectively be crippled in its growth potential. The only thing exempt are a primary residence there (considered to 25% of its value) and local government pension accounts.
That pretty much killed Norway for me, so I’m now looking at Sweden instead, where there’s no such thing, and cost of living are also lower. So I decided to switch over to learning Swedish instead, it’s not far off. I was there last year and was able to have a pretty normal conversation with a real estate agent where I spoke Norwegian and he Swedish, and we understood each other just fine.
For visiting only, English is just fine. But if you plan to work and socialise long term, it’s absolutely essential to integrate.
Learning Swedish now, since I already speak passable Norwegian, it’s not the hardest endeavor.
Are people really actively using tablets? I thought that was more of a hype and is now something that lies around and gets occasional use on the couch, but not really productive.
Sounds like it’s only affecting TCP and TLS, so VPN over UDP would be a quick fix.
Works just fine if you put your phone in desktop mode.
Facebook works perfectly fine in browser, there’s literally no need for that shit app.
Sounds like the attack scenario is very sophisticated and targeted, and only works within the range of Bluetooth low energy (BLE) connectivity, so 10-15 meters under best circumstances. At that point they might as well eavesdrop on my calls in person.
Yeah I still don’t approve of it, that was the question. I’m all for stricter gun laws worldwide. The US obviously need to catch up most urgently, but that doesn’t mean I have to like the status quo elsewhere.
