Full title: This scene in The Force Awakens (2015) wasn’t scripted; Kylo was supposed to hand over his lightsaber, but instead Harrison Ford impaled himself so he wouldn’t have to film one more goddamn second of Star Wars crap
Harrison only came back to have Han killed. Said it many times in interviews
See, he could have just said “no,” but the professional hater energy took over like a giant, glowing erection.
Respect.
also, they probably paid him a shitload of $
“Professional hater energy” is a funny way to say “paycheck”
Dude is sitting on like a third of a billion net worth. He doesn’t need a paycheck.
Didn’t Harrison want Han to die way back in RotJ?
Yes
Yes and no, he originally wanted to die in Empire Strikes back, which is why they froze him.
Ford should have tried harder; death didn’t stop his character from coming back again in Temu Dark Empire.
I was at a party not long before this movie came out and was talking with a friend about how we’re trying to avoid spoilers for this movie (back when we actually had an open mind jarjar abrams could make a decent movie despite doing shitty star trek movies) and he’d mentioned some already spoiled it on reddit/imgur and he was kinda pissed. His wife was standing with us and she inadvertently said “Yeah, it’s not like I killed Han Solo” and within half a second she realized what she just did. She sulked into the foyer and hid in the coat closet for a minute.
I razzed her about it for a while, but when I did finally go see it it really wasn’t as much of a spoiler because that scene was so hamfisted and blatant that they may as well have included a countdown timer on screen.

- Dad, you don’t understand me!
Zap!
