I’m pretty sure I read a sci-fi novel that had that idea or something similar. I can’t remember which book it was. Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, maybe?
It’s similar to an early chapter of snow crash by Neil Stephenson
Maybe that’s the one. I have to re-read it.
I know there is a similar scene in there. I just want a game version with personal agency. If there is something else similar please let me know
