I don’t really understand this… are you complaining that people are buying stuff at garage sales so you can’t buy it? That’s… how they work? Is there something about a garage sale that makes it wrong to buy stuff there to resell?
It’s the act of turning it into a business. Going in and often hassling the people putting on the sale while they’re still setting up in order to take all the best stuff that they turn around and sell for a much higher price. It’s predatory and annoying and takes away from community members who might’ve really cherished this guitar or whatever that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford. But you know, capitalism’s gotta capitalize.

At least in my area there’s a bunch of garage sale scalpers that go as soon as it starts or earlier and nab all the best shit to resell
