Give anyone who does anything a program that is different than what they are used to, this will be their reaction.

“I don’t understand the added value here,” one official wrote on an internal staff message board, seen by POLITICO.

Well, maybe they should try to understand?

A third official said that, judging matters on how well Element Pro works compared to Teams, the U.S. would “instantly win the war” if it ever decided to switch off its technology. All the officials were granted anonymity to speak freely.

Why do I feel like these quotes are entirely meaningless without knowing the political affiliation and declared interests of the people saying them?

Like I would put a lot of money on a pro-capitalist right-winger having posted something like this verbatim before even reading the article.

Microsoft alone has spent millions lobbying various EU politicians, I think it’s fair to assume those politicians aren’t going to bite the hand that feeds

Yeah them not understanding the added value isn’t exactly saying anything about the software. I’m not sure they were aware though.

Oh they swapped Teams for Element? Honestly I’d take it. They’re not really 1:1, and element is quite wonky, but not nearly on the level of Teams.

Wonder if the pro version has a calendar. That’s about the one good feature of Teams.
