Soon the AI will be prompting you to do things. Next will be mild electric shocks. Nothing dangerous of course, just uncomfortable.

Am boss. Work in information security. My team builds the surveillance tools.

We are not using ai powered spyware. You know how expensive that shit is? I can barely convince my bosses to spend money on things we desparetly need. You know how many fucking business cases and useless PowerPoint decks I’d have to produce in order to get funding for something like this? I can hear my boss now “OK so if we did buy it, we don’t have the headcount to operate it, nor maintain it.”

Sorry, but do NOT discount how cheap most of these companies are.

Also, non,-ai tools work just fine. The only thing they’ll do with it is build a case for firing people. It is super easy to do that anyway. Put someone on a pip. Set the rules to get off the pip. Make them unachievable. If someone actually does the things, just say they didn’t do them just so.

I believe the vast majority aren’t, and I know money is money, but it’s not that expensive. Not only are there vision models small enough to run locally entirely free now on hardware more modest than you would think, even using an api key from open router and sending it a screenshot every 15 seconds to summarise it into a log costs in the realm of 1.5c/hour.

Now yes that is per person, but even so, 10 employees 15c/h, 100 for $1.50/h. And remember this is an unreasonably often every 15 seconds. Most would be happy per minute or even less. Under 40c/h to watch 100 people. It’s money yes, but it really isn’t that expensive.

Edit: voice is also cheaper than you would think to have a model stt and summarise it, also single digit cents per hour of audio.

Funny how AI was supposed to eliminate tedious work, but instead it’s eliminating the last scraps of dignity at work. Management can’t explain what half its executives do all day, yet they’ve built a robot hall monitor to grade every syllable from people actually serving customers.

Without billionaires and employers, AI would eliminate tedious work.

The problem isn’t actually the AI.

They mandated that we return to the office. I now have long stretches of time with my laptop closed while attending in person meetings or standing at a white board or even socializing. Track that.

This is the real meaning behind ai. Why do you think all big tech bros are sucking on the orange micro weiner? They’re all perverts that are part of the Epstein class. Simple as that; power hungry perverts

Can’t wait for people to be able to choose if they work or not because AI will do all the work for us and we won’t need money anymore. That’s what Elon Musk said at least.
