I am in support of tariffs against Chinese cars because the Chinese government subsidize them heavily with the goal to destroy our industries in an aggressive act of economic warfare where they likely lose money on every sold car but the damage they cause is greater so it would still be a successful operation in their eyes.
BUT the European and especially the German car industry is dismantling itself with one incredibly stupid decision followed by the next. Even in rural Germany I see charging stations coming up left and right because towns and super markets see the signs that car brands refuse to recognize.
I wouldn‘t be surprised if some of them get bought by China by 2035 just to start producing EVs only anyway. They are too stubborn to save themselves.

You mean the Chinese EV makers selling cars below cost? Good luck with that, it’s the biggest bubble in China since Evergrande.
Renault sold 16,000 5 EVs last more. Way more than BYD.
No one is buying BMW EVs because they are unreliable, overweight and shit as their ICE cars.
Show me these cheap EVs and i will totally not buy them.
A Zeeker X is like a model Y on steroids, and sells around 40K USD. There are cheaper options.
