This latest abrasion operation appears to have lasted 22 minutes, which is about average for those patches I have data on. Unfortunately, no images of the completed patch have come down as yet.

This abrasion seems to have quickly generated a large volume of fine powder/tailings, which is somewhat unusual; this could indicate that the rock is relatively soft here. It’s a good sign that the target doesn’t seem to have fractured, like the clay-rich outcrops we’ve seen elsewhere on the Jezero rim, so sampling might be possible here if we find something noteworthy. The last abrasion patch (#44) was made just last week a short distance downhill - we’ve been studying the current location quite closely, as I’ve mentioned before (see my comment on this post) - so it will be interesting if this material is very different from that stuff.
