Reuters spoke with five private eyes, who all said their fraudulent sick leave business was booming - so much so that some agencies have ditched traditional gigs like extra-marital affairs to focus solely on employees suspected of skipping work.
I think we can assume so. I’m the US I know it is based on state laws. Some require a certification.
The US is basically a comical wild west, so not a great reference for whats legal.
You may note that it mentions the government relying on private investigators.
Additionally this has been investigated privately for at least 4 years.
