  • I was active on a particular sub and got worried that I might have accidentally posted personal info that could make me easier to track down. I asked the mods to delete all of my content from their sub, and they did. they removed everything using the “purge-user” bot.

Suddenly, my account was security-locked, and I was asked to update my email address and password! The problem was that when the security lock was applied, the system replaced the email I had been using with an old, deleted Tutanota email that I no longer used! I had to pay for a Tutanota subscription to recover that email and receive emails from Reddit.

After doing all that and finally updating my email and password, my account was still locked. I submitted appeals several times, but nothing worked.

  • I worked with a manager who lived by the rule “everyone is replaceable”! Whenever conflict happened between employees, he would simply let them go, or fire one of them, instead of trying to resolve the conflict, completely ignoring the team chemistry and the dynamic they had built, as well as the time it would take to hire and train someone new from scratch. Sometimes, he’d even pull someone from a completely different department just to fill the gap. He didn’t believe in specialization at all! To him, anyone could be dumped into any position, it’s as simple as that!

  • I disagree with you. Censorship is very important in many cases because things can be said that might cause disasters, so we shouldn’t be tolerent or lenient with them.

In Egypt, for example, an author named Farag Fouda was killed in the 90s by a citizen after hearing a Sheikh called for his death! And incidents like these have been repeated many times all over the world!

At the same time, we must set a clear boundary that, once crossed, an individual gets punished, so we do not equate someone anti-Semitic and anti-Black with someone who says he is gay and presents progressive ideas in his songs!

Also, education is important, but enforcing strict laws acts as a deterrent and increases society’s protection against horrible hate crimes.
