The mass gambling companies and increase in petty theft. Not signs of a healthy economy.
The reduced-to-clear stickers getting less cheap
The price of instant ramen.
I just bought 90 Mama instant ramen Duck flavored and 90 chicken flavored for 83.58 EUR including shipping. That’s 46.5 cents per instant ramen. I think that’s actually slightly cheaper than my Mama order a few years ago. I don’t think, the economy is going great in general.
On the store shelf Maruchan instant noodles are a buck a pop. Shit’s broken.
Maruchan might just be the good stuff. I never tried them. I started at the bottom with Yum Yum. Mama was the next step up and I am satisfied with them, so I didn’t go further.
You can always mod the stuff. Roasted onions are cheap by the kilo online and have a pretty good shelf life too if not stored too hot. I add them to basically everything - including Mama instant noodles. Egg powder (vegan or real) also works well (just nuke the noodles thoroughly in the microwave to make sure it’s cooked properly). You can always add more herbs, spices, and chili. Seasoning is really cheap in bulk.I recommend to either just be rich, or buy anything you can in bulk online and make it a habit to be schottisch when it comes to spending. Lowering expectations or even just giving the lesser options a try can bring costs down a lot.
Maruchan is not the good stuff. Not too long ago, even after the before times, it was only 10-25 cents a pack. The good stuff is Shin Black, and that is arpund 12 bucks for a 4 pack. 4 bucks for the cup noodle style single serving.
I just don’t buy ramen anymore, unless I’m craving it due to growing up poor nostalgia, Red Barron pizzas are still only 5 bucks and I have a few good tricks to make those taste really good, so that’s my too tired to cook meal these days.
I work in events. The events are now only business events not party events. The only parties that are still happening are weddings. Even fundraisers have scaled back.
the fact the homes in my neighborhood have been on the market for months instead of days/weeks.
and they are empty. two years ago every home/apartment was occupied.
Also, I’m looking for a house and prices are coming down, especially the past six months.
feeling guilty after shopping even though i only bought basic essentials
When there’s two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth.
People have a tendency to say there’s a recession whenever they’re not happy. Like, the person in here who’s saying inflation existing (which it always does, to some degree) means there’s a recession.
Reddit has been in recession talk for the past 3 years. I mention that’s not how it works and I get banned
Toy stores for men. There used to be loads of them around town when people had lots of spare money. Not a single one on our high streets now. Not that I miss them or bought anything from them.
I’m not sure I follow. Is this, like, Nerf/paintball/airsoft, or do you mean Sharper Image?
Or like jet skis and four wheelers
Children? In this economy?
