You will never get me with your garbage Fedora distro. I tried all variants over multiple years, multiple releases and I had nothing but issues. I would genuinely rather deal with Canonical’s nonsense than Red Hat’s. I hate Rad Hat.
That’s wild to me it’s like the only distro family that ever didn’t have constant issues for me. I’m convinced there’s some lottery system that assigns us all to a distro at birth and it’s our life’s mission to find it
I’ve been using it for years and it’s the only one I feel I can safely recommend.
Sad that it’s owned by IBM now.
Well, it’s relatively stable until it isn’t. If you don’t have time to fuck around, use mint. Unless you need new packages, then you’re fucked (maybe suse TW - but still don’t expect everything to work, just decent stability).

Elaborate please. I’m weighing installing Fedora for KDE. What kind of fucking around should I expect?
Fedora is a very early adopter of new technologies, often even earlier than Arch. They were the first to adopt PulseAudio, the first to use Wayland sessions by default, the first to drop Xorg, and will likely be the first to drop lib32 packages. Any issues that may arise from major upgrades or changes, you are most likely to be exposed to them on Fedora.
Got it, thanks.
Just try it for yourself in a VM and you will see.
That is an amazing non-answer. Very impressive in its uselessness. Good job.
Uh-huh. And how long do I need to run the VM before I run into an ‘isn’t stable’ situation? Half a year, a year, more? Am I supposed to use the VM as my main machine during that time?
Just install it, try to install KDE (Gnome is the main desktop of Fedora), see if it works, if you like it, and if you can tolerate the slow ass package manager that is yum.
Should take you about 30 minutes; no need to be rude about it.
You can even try it in your browser if you think setting up a VM is too much time wasted: https://distrosea.com/de/start/fedora-44-kde/
Come on man. I know what KDE looks like. Running a VM for a bit won’t help me learn what issues occur with Fedora sometimes.
I like how even their nails are Fedora-themed.
You’ll still insert it the wrong direction twice. There’s no avoiding it.
This pic shows two of my kinks ;p
Cropped sweaters and installing distros on your partner?
The context behind this picture was also funny
What is the context?

Real?
Too bad I thought this was going to be a linux sexbot
This wasnt hotter?
Eh I’m less interested in these people
Perhaps, in a sense, it was…
