    You will never get me with your garbage Fedora distro. I tried all variants over multiple years, multiple releases and I had nothing but issues. I would genuinely rather deal with Canonical’s nonsense than Red Hat’s. I hate Rad Hat.

      I’ve been running Bazzite for a couple of years now, and it’s technically built on Fedora. First experience with a Fedora distro, and couldn’t be happier. Love it

      Fedora Silverblue is by far the worst OS I’ve ever used. Well, tried to use, because, after a fresh install on a brand new laptop, literally everything crashed with a segfault. I could only login to the desktop and open the terminal. Everything else was broken. I tried with a different USB key, verified the ISO, switched to a different version… Utterly broken.

      That’s wild to me it’s like the only distro family that ever didn’t have constant issues for me. I’m convinced there’s some lottery system that assigns us all to a distro at birth and it’s our life’s mission to find it

        Same. I broke Ubuntu many times until I finally found Fedora.

        So stable I can’t break it apparently.

        I’ve been using it for years and it’s the only one I feel I can safely recommend.

        Sad that it’s owned by IBM now.

      Well, it’s relatively stable until it isn’t. If you don’t have time to fuck around, use mint. Unless you need new packages, then you’re fucked (maybe suse TW - but still don’t expect everything to work, just decent stability).

          Also there are probably thirty actual decent KDE distributions. OpenSuSE is one of the very old ones, there are many others.

          Eh it’s kinda fine most of the time. But if you really don’t have time to fix dependencies (via dnf) and constantly leave it for later, many broken things accumulate. It’s usually fine (and usually works for at least a few years without problems, even on arch).

          Fedora is a very early adopter of new technologies, often even earlier than Arch. They were the first to adopt PulseAudio, the first to use Wayland sessions by default, the first to drop Xorg, and will likely be the first to drop lib32 packages. Any issues that may arise from major upgrades or changes, you are most likely to be exposed to them on Fedora.

            Uh-huh. And how long do I need to run the VM before I run into an ‘isn’t stable’ situation? Half a year, a year, more? Am I supposed to use the VM as my main machine during that time?

              Just install it, try to install KDE (Gnome is the main desktop of Fedora), see if it works, if you like it, and if you can tolerate the slow ass package manager that is yum.

              Should take you about 30 minutes; no need to be rude about it.
