One of them screams when she doesn’t know where I am. You could just walk down the hall and look to see if I’m in my office (where I spend most of my free time). She also screams when my spouse is in the shower, but then runs away when she (spouse) tries to pet her. Spouse moved in after a decade of the big kitty being the boss, so I understand the complicated relationship. And if you believed the kitty, she’s never been fed a meal, not ever, not even once.
6AM!? Lucky bastard! Mine start around 4, and if dare snooze my 5AM alarm I trampled by them repeatedly. Literally, the fat one jumps from my dresser and bounces off of me, little chubby cute handsome… Oh who am I kidding… I love them so much 😍
Mine was similar. An automatic feeder did wonders for my sleep :D
Thank you for your suggestion. We have been discussing this. We feed them wet food, Ive looked at a few wet food auto-feeder products but I’m skeptical.
I was quite satisfied with mine. Basically it was just a rotating plate with coolpacks underneath and four pits. Held the food fresh until morning, which was enough for me.
My mom just locks them in a room at night.
I’d argue that these cats had no trial prior to their prison sentence but all attempts at early parole have led to immediate and malicious reoffense.

For real. I never feed my cat shortly after waking up. So she never wakes me up, because she knows she won’t get what she wants.
I moved back in with my parents because of reasons. Against my request, they started feeding her as soon as they wake up. So now my cat wakes them up earlier every day. She still never bothers me because she is perfect. My parents complain, and I don’t know what to tell them beyond “stop rewarding her when she wakes you up in the morning… like I told you.”
it seems like most people don’t understand “if i reward someone for doing something annoying then they learn to do the annoying thing”, regardless of the species in question.

People rarely train cats. It’s weird. So many cats have awful behaviour and their owners just shrug and act like it’s inevitable.

Cats are dumb and stubborn. Mine start to get annoying about 1-2h before they’re fed in the morning. I solved this by feeding them later, which not everyone can do.
I taught my cat to leave me alone in the morning by handfeeding him right before I left for work for a few weeks, and then setting the automatic feeder to go off 30 minutes before I wake up
Why not put them behind 2 closed doors?
